Press Coverage for Saving Senior Dogs Week

We would like to thank actress and film documentarian Jacqueline Piñol, creator and host of The Canine Condition podcast, for inviting Alice Mayn to be a guest on an episode about senior dogs. We invite you to listen to the 33 minute episode, "They're Not Senior Dogs, They're Vintage Dogs", as Jacqueline talks to Alice about Lily’s Legacy, Saving Senior Dogs Week, and the joys of adopting “Vintage Dogs”.

Saving Senior Dogs Week is thrilled to partner with the  New York Dog Film Festival™. The New York Dog Film Festival supports animal welfare organizations across the country that focus on the most vulnerable dogs: the old ones. A portion of every ticket sold across the country will benefit all the participating rescues of Saving Senior Dogs Week. The Festival Premiere on October 24th kicks off SavingSenior Dogs Week, but, of course, the life-saving rescues and adoptions take place all 52 weeks of the year, as does the festival’s support of their work.  Read more here: http://www.dogfilmfestival.com/our-mission

NY Times bestselling author, Jenna Blum, contacted Alice after speaking with Tracie Hotchner (NY Dog Film Festival) and learning about Saving Senior Dogs Week. Her new book, Woodrow on the Bench, about her senior lab, is coming out the same week as SSDW. She sent Alice a copy and it is fabulous. She is very excited about promoting SSDW on her social media and book tour. In return, we will be thanking her for her promotion and posting links to her book during SSDW.

Today.com did an article about SSDW again this year, it is now LIVE at:
https://www.today.com/pets/quirky-dog-promotes-senior-pet-adoptions-saving-senior-dogs-week-t234719

In our social media postings during SSDW we use a format with an "Ambassadog" who introduces the stories throughout the day. The first story in the morning is the "Ambassadog" introducing him or herself and telling a bit about his/her story. Then he/she introduces the other dog stories and our sponsors throughout the day. The last post of the day is the "Ambassadog" coming back to say goodnight and tell the rest of his/her story. Apparently, the writer for Today.com likes the "Ambassadog" format and is creating a story around it.
